Mari should be the main character of Evangelion.

So I got there a good 40 minutes early and there was a line wrapped around the block--for the 3:15 am showing! I ended up in the third row; it didn't end up quite sold out though. I felt bad for the moms who had their young teens with them; they were totally out gunned for getting good seats on opening night with the college crowd here. When we got out at 6 am the sun was up and a news van was out front; the lady said we could be on the news in 'a few minutes,' but I opted to go to sleep instead.

The movie itself is kind of slow and you certainly get a sense of it being long. But it isn't the worst Potter movie.

I'm going to the 3 am showing in Davis. Not that I'm that big of a fan, but a 3 am showing is kind of a novelty. I'll probably go again with everyone else later.

I thought I was really living it up the past month or so with the eating out and ordering lots of food. But it is anything but abnormal. When school is happening I usually eat at Carl's Jr for lunch, which is a steady $6 daily drain, so expenses wise the past month hasn't been anything special.

It is also a surprise that on average I spend about as much eating out as I do eating in; I would have thought one would dominate the other.

So, here is a box and whisker plot of our bills from California Pizza Kitchen. What quartile did you fall in? I am certainly in the fourth. Congrats to Christian for being 32 cents away from being an outlier!



Here's a link to a Google spreadsheet of the raw data if you're not sure how it all added up. The left-hand side is line for line how the bill adds up. The right side is where I totalled up individual's bills. There is actually a little bit of rounding error happening because of how I calculated the tip: if you add up the totals by hand you will be off by 1 cent in my favour. If you feel shorted 1 cent I will give you one.

I didn't do anything this week except start to move.

I beat Valkyria Chronicles. I think the last game I finished was Twilight Princess. It gets my approval, although the Princess didn't get a cutscene appearance at the end of the game. They could have done a little more with her. Maybe the anime will fulfil my desires.

Now I am out of food, so I am off to the supermarket. And then I guess I need to figure out what I'm doing with the rest of my summer.

Woke up, realized that leaving everything open all night didn't cool down my apartment. Of course, when I went to bed at 1 am I was still sweating, so I should have known.. Now I've battened up with the A/C running. :)

SpaceX seems like it would be cool to work for. Maybe I'll look into that for next summer. Of course, it would mean living in LA. Scary.

I don't know why the world cares that much about MJ. Sure, I expect a little bit of hype, but not overwhelming-Google-for-an-hour levels. He had like 3 good albums and the moonwalk. I'm over it.

Oh yeah, I'm not sure if I'm really down for driving to Dublin and paying megabucks for IMAX tickets for Transformers. Transformers isn't worth it; at least Michael Bay's Transformers. If they were going to show the 1986 Transformers movie on IMAX, I'd already have advance tickets and cardboard cosplay.

This weekend I learned it is better to be a lesbian than a murderer.

Had fun tonight. Glad to be on the champion team. Sorry I made someone else drive me. Thanks again Bree.

All my grades this quarter are crap, but at least I didn't end up registering an all-time low grade in Electromag 2 (for which I am really, really grateful. I left most of the first midterm blank.)

Sigh. Next year I vow to do a trillion times better. While also being a trillion times more social. And a trillion times happier.

Yeah.
